Participants at the ECCMIS refresher training
A cross-section of Judicial Officers and Judiciary Call Centre staff took part in a two-day refresher training on the Electronic Court Case Management System at the Judicial Training Institute in Nakawa.
This is one of the activities ahead of the go-live date for ECCMIS on March 1, 2022.
The two days training was flagged off by the Institute's Registrar, HW Mary Kaitesi who acknowledged that the advent of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has changed people's way of life. "ICT is being adopted in all aspects of society to facilitate online delivery of service," she said.
HW Kaitesi said this called for concerted efforts by both Government and the Private Sector to move in the same direction and adopt the emerging new technologies if they are to cope with the current global digital trends.
She noted that the training had been organized to ensure that the participants effectively and efficiently utilize ECCMIS for day to day operations at their respective stations.
The Principal Information Technology Officer, Mr David Sunday Kikabi echoed this adding that the goal was to give the participants a hands on training on what ECCMIS is and how it works.
He equally outlined some of the envisaged benefits of ECCMIS which include, improved records keeping, improved efficiency, decision support, inter- institutional data integration and reduced chances of physical contact among others.
The System will contribute to quicker access to justice services, and thus urged the participants to embrace it.
